Beth Parvu

MULTIPLE FLOWERS WITH 1 CUTTER (gumpaste)

This is a 2-session class – student must take both sessions.

Learn how to make several flowers with a single cutter using Beth’s soft-method of creating gumpaste flowers.

            3-d GARDEN BENCH

This is a 2-session class – student must take both sessions.

FASHION HAT CAKE

Simple carving on a one-layer round cake turns it into this elegant fashion hat.

Basic fondant skills finish the hat with a beautiful bow and a little bling!

Some supplies required – see list.

GUMPASTE PEONY (2 pt class)

This is a 2-session class – student must take both sessions.

Create this beautiful life-sized peony blossom!

Session one - we will make the center and petals for the peony.  Class MAY run slightly longer.

Session two - we will bring the petals to life by dusting and assemble the flower.

FUNNY CLOWN TOPPER

Create this adorable clown cake topper from hand-modeled fondant.

Perfect for any child's cake!

Gary Silverthorn

ORIENTAL STRINGWORK

Learn this exciting technique of piping upside-down strings with royal icing. 

Each student will cover a six-inch cake dummy in rolled fondant and decorate it with piped stringwork and simple fondant flowers. 

Includes recipes and all supplies.

INLAID LACE APPLIQUE’

Fun new process of creating beautiful and detailed lace designs on cakes, including some in 3-D. 

This fondant method can be used on either fondant-covered or buttercream-iced cakes. 

Each student will make a sample board to take home of techniques used. 

All supplies are included.

SEWING BASKET CAKE

This is a 2-session class – student must take both sessions.

Create this fun cake for a special Lady's birthday. 

Each student will make a sewing basket cake dummy filled with all her favorite sewing tools. 

Many different fondant techniques will be used to complete all the details. 

All supplies are provided.

FLIP FLOP’S CAKE

We will be making the all-time summer favorite – FLIP FLOPS! 

Working on Styrofoam dummies we will cover them with textured fondant and decorate the strap with a large daisy. 

Embellishments can be as simple or detailed as you would like (time permitting).   

A variety of cutters will be available for your use but feel free to bring your favorite along as you desire.

GUMPASTE CROWN

You will create a 3D tiara out of gum paste to use as a topper on a cake. 

The perfect finishing touch for your favorite Princess!  

A variety of templates will be available to choose from along with accents of tiny flowers or pearls.

BASIC GELATIN FLOWERS

Let your gelatin bloom into beautiful flowers.

In this beginner’s class you will learn the gelatin basics from blooming the gelatin to painting the impression sheets.

Then cut and transform the pieces into simple flowers like Lilies, Iris and Pansies.

These basic techniques will allow you to create a multitude of flowers.

All supplies provided.

 

GELATIN BOW & BUTTERFLY

Discover the wonderful world of gelatin!

Looks delicate like pulled sugar but is actually very durable and made from gelatin.

Learn the gelatin basics from blooming the gelatin to painting the impression sheets while creating a translucent package bow embellished with a delicate sparkling butterfly,

 

ADVANCED GELATIN FLOWERS

Now that you have learned the basic gelatin skills, continue to learn new techniques to create more complicated flowers like Roses, Carnations, Hydrangeas, Orchids and foliage.

The basics of gelatin will not be covered to allow more time to complete the advanced techniques we have discovered in the wonderful world of gelatin.

Prerequisite class (basic gelatin) is recommended.

All supplies provided.

 

SMOCKING, RUFFLES, AND LACE

Learn different fabric techniques using fondant to create a pretty Christening gown.

You will learn to do smocking, create lace, and make beautiful ruffles easier than you think.

Once you learn the techniques you can go wild, making all kinds of designs to adorn your fancy cakes.
