Who are we???
What is a
Demo-Day???
MMSA
Mid-Michigan
Sugar Artists (MMSA) is a group of cake decorators, cake enthusiasts, candy
makers, and more! Our members vary from
occasional decorators to home bakers to bakery owners… some new to the art,
some skilled professionals, and some in between. We welcome every one!
We
have 2 events each year – a Demo Day held in February, along with a Sugar Art
Workshops weekend event In August. All

also have a newsletter that is sent to our membership 4 times a year. In this newsletter, you will find information
on upcoming events our group is hosting, as well as other sugar related events
of interest to our members. Along with
events, we also have various articles on varieties of decorating techniques, or
perhaps about an interesting event one of our members may have attended, or
perhaps a recipe or two we’d like to share.
Demo Day
A
Demo Day is just that… a day of demo’s! We have 1 of these each year, held the last
Sunday in February. During the event,
you can expect to find 2 classes being offered in the morning, lunch, and then
an afternoon of demonstrations (sometimes they will even be hands on!) covering
a variety of sugar art methods.
*Note – 2011 Demo Day has been CANCELLED
(*Note – if you can’t make it to the morning classes,
or need to leave after class, no worries! There
are separate registration options to fit everyone’s schedules.)
Sugar Art Workshops
Our Sugar Art Workshops is a weekend event held the 2nd
weekend in August. We offer a huge
variety of classes that are two hours long with some of our own incredibly
talented in-state instructors (some you may have seen their work featured in
national and international magazines, or even on Food Network!) We do occasionally bring in an out of state
instructor for these fun filled weekends.
Truly a huge hit with all of our attendee’s! J
